BMLG's Year in Review - Community Care

Updated: Jan 25

As we head into 2024, we like to reflect the work that we have done, but also the fun we had! At Battista Migration Law Group, we are fortunate to have a tight knit team. We work hard in collaboration with each other to complete high quality work for our clients, celebrate this work in and with our community.

2023 was a year of growth and transformation at Battista Migration Law Group. From supporting Vivi'r LGBTQ+ in obtaining their charitable status, Michael's Business Advocate of the Year Award, to celebrating the work of artist and AIDS advocate Keith Haring as a team, we sure had a lot to celebrate!

Here are some of our favourite moments of celebration and community care from 2023.

June - Celebrating Rainbow Railroad at their annual Freedom Party, where it was announced that Rainbow Railroad would be a referral partner for the government's resettlement of government assisted refugees:

July - Associate Lawyer Nicholas Woodward and Latinx Outreach Coordinator & Senior Paralegal, Maria Diaz begin to volunteer at HQ's free drop-in Legal Clinic:

August - Celebrating the hard work of Vivi'r LGBTQ+ at their BBQ:

September - attending a protest in support of trans and gender diverse youth:

November - Celebrating Michael's Business Advocate of the Year Award at CGLCC's 8th Annual Black and White Gala....

...and visiting the Keith Haring exhibit: Art is for Everybody!

December - Celebrating the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research...

...and learning to make pasta at Eataly for our Holiday Party!

These are just a few of the many wonderful moments that we were able to celebrate in 2023. We are ready to transition into 2024 and cannot wait to see it brings.

From the team at Battista Migration Law Group, we wish you peace and safety in the New Year!
